This is the main window of Quick Optimizer. To clean an item, tick the box adjacent to it and press the Clean button. To stop the procedure, click the Stop button. To exit from the application, press the Exit button.
You can also use the Clean option from your File Menu. There is an option for checking if there is a new upgrade available for the software. This can be accessed from File> Check for Update.
You can go to the Options window from the Options tab in the menu to set the various options provided by Quick Optimizer.
From the Tools menu you get access to various registry and Internet Explorer tools provided by Quick Optimizer.
Online help is provided using the Help menu.
To clean a single item you can right click on an item and click the "Clean" button to clean it.
Quick Optimizer has divided the various items to be handled in three categories:
A. Windows Related: Here are the various items which are related to the Windows operating system directly. These items are not backed up by the Quick Optimizer.
Recycle Bin: Select this option to clean the Recycle bin. Recycle bin is the place where Windows sends the files and folders deleted by you.
Run MRU: Select this option to clean the Run MRU. This is the list of commands you have recently typed in the Run window from the Windows Start menu.
Recent documents links: Select this option to clean the Recent documents links. These are the links to recent documents opened by you.
Windows clipboard: Select this option to clear the Windows clipboard. Clipboard is the place where Windows keep the data copied by you (when you press Ctrl C or Copy button).
MS Office MRU: Select this option to clean Microsoft Office MRU. These are the list of recent documents opened by you in the Microsoft Office application including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Front page.
B. Files & Folders Related: These are items related to files and folders on your system. You can set the various options for searching Empty files, Unnecessary files and Dead shortcuts from the Options window.
Memory dump files: Select this option to clean Memory dump files. These are files which are dumped by Windows in the occurrence of a crash.
Leftover printer files: Select this option to clean the leftover printer files. These files are left over by printers when there is a crash and many other cases.
Empty files: Select this option to clean the Empty files. These files are 0 byte in size and there are many reasons these files are being created like a file's contents are cleared but the file is not deleted. You can set various searching options for them through the Option window.
Unnecessary files: Select this option to clean the Unnecessary files. These files are those which are no longer required by the system or the application which used them. The reason for their existence is many an application created them for its use but did not delete them. You can set various searching options for them through the Options window.
Dead shortcuts: Select this option to clean Dead shortcuts. Many times an application or you create its shortcut but do not delete them when the application is uninstalled. These shortcuts become useless or dead since target is no longer available. You can set various searching options for them through Options window.
User defined folders: Select this option to clean User defined folders. In the Options window you can choose specific folders that you want to delete.
User defined files: Select this option to clean User defined files. In the Options window you can set specific files you want to delete.
C. Internet Related: These are files related to Internet Explorer. You can delete them to protect your privacy and clean up the disk space.
History: Select this option to clean Internet Explorer History. This records the list of sites visited by you while browsing using Internet Explorer.
Cookies: Select this option to clean Cookies. These are files stored on your system by various sites you visit, for storing the information and sending it back to them, when you visit the site again. You can decide to keep or clean Cookies from Options window.
Cache: Select this option to clean Internet Explorer Cache. This stores the files (Html pages, images etc) saved by the Internet Explorer when you visit a site.
Favorites: Select this option to clean Internet Explorer Favorites.
Typed URL History: Select this option to clean Internet Explorer Typed URL history. These are the list of URL's typed in Internet Explorer.
Offline web pages: Select this option to clean Internet Explorer Offline web pages. These are pages which are made available by Internet Explorer while the user is offline.
This is the window where you can see the result after the items are cleaned. You can save the log from File > Save menu.
